"Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" is a Christmas song with an added counterpoint performed by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. The track was recorded on 11 September 1977 for Crosby's then-upcoming television special, Bing Crosby's Merrie Olde Christmas. The pair exchanged dialogue about what they do for Christmas before singing "Little Drummer Boy" with a new counterpoint with original lyrics written for the special, "Peace on Earth." Crosby died on October 14, just over a month after recording the special.

Be careful my friends ...

At this time of year there seems to be more dishonest people doing bad things. A stamping buddy just had over $700 posted to her debit card for purchases that were not hers. Fortunately, the bank's monitoring system sent a "Large Purchase" alert message and she's now working with them to straighten things out. The biggest problem ... her car payment 'bounced' because of insufficient funds. Bummer!

So friends, be careful! Monitor your credit card and bank statements closely this month. We want you and your money to be safe!

Congratulations!

Yes, congratulations are certainly in order for Shawnee Presbyterian Church, were I was a vendor for their Holiday Shop on Dec 3rd.  Although we had really bad weather (it rained on an off all day!) they collected just over $1300 from the quilt raffle, our table registration, the vendor-donated items, and their Tea Room.  All this money will be donated to Harvesters, our city-wide food bank.

Thanks for allowing me to participate in the event, and thanks for supporting this very worthy cause.  I hope to be invited back for next year's event!

The MOST Unique Package!

The MOST Unique Package - that's what I'm calling these recycled food tubes (what else would your call these things?).  They'll hold a surprise for that special person on your gift list.  And it will be "the" thing everybody talks about at dinner ... guaranteed!

I showcased this project back in March 2010 but it's still one of my favorites (right up there with the Magnetic Note Pad Holder I showed you last week).

Here's my Before and After pictures.  Who would guess that you would find a bottle of wonderful hand soap in an old Pringles can?  Or a Gift Card in an old Crystal Light container?  Now that's cool!
